All Natural Deodorant (that works)

We all sweat… and I have a very strong preference to use natural products that work AND I do not like to smell bad. You can be natural and smell wonderful. This works. It really does. This is what I’ve been using under my armpits for hmmm… at least…. three years and in the tropical heat of Central America it hasn’t failed me yet:)

Ingredients:

3 Tablespoons Coconut Oil
3 Tablespoons Baking Soda
2 Tablespoons Shea Butter
2 Tablespoons Arrowroot (If you don’t have arrowroot just add a bit more baking soda)
10 - 15 drops of Essential Oils (I love bergamot, lavender and frankincense for gentle sweet fragrances. Myrrh and cedar make it a bit more earthy and man friendly.)

Method:

  • Melt the shea butter and coconut oil in a double boiler over medium heat until barely melted.
Remove from heat and stir in baking soda and arrowroot until there are no clumps.

  • Add essential oils and pour into a wide mouthed jar for storage and use. I recommend a wide mouthed jar (I use recycled face cream pots) because you’ll be using your fingers to put the deodorant on so you want something that’s easy to reach into.

  • This deodorant does not need to be stored in the fridge and will last well for months.
